MWANZA URBAN WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION AUTHORITY


GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE (GPN)

1) The Mwanza Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (MWAUWASA) ,

Makongoro Road, PO Box 317 ,

Mwanza

has set aside funds from the European Union, the European Investment Bank EIB, the Agence Francaise de Development AFD, and intends to use part of the proceeds on payments for goods and works for water supply network rehabilitation and extension, wastewater rehabilitation and extension and sanitation in the years 2015-2017.


2) The Mwanza Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority is now issuing the General Procurement Notice (GPN) to the public in accordance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act No.7 of 2011 and its Regulations of 2013 and the “Guide to Procurement for Projects financed by the European Investment Bank” in the OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union) for the purpose of informing potential bidders and the general Public on tender opportunities during the year s 2015 and 2016.


3) Further to publication of this GPN, subsequent Specific Procurement Notices for these tenders will be advertised in International and Local Newspapers as well as on the Tanzanian PPRA Tender Portal www.ppra.go.tz and the OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union) .

The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is implementing Technical cooperation measures on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Description

UNHCR Representation in Ghana invites suitable and qualified organizations to express interest for conducting an assessment on livelihood opportunities and protection risk faced by refugees living in urban areas (Accra and Tema) of Ghana, and those relocated to Krisan Refugee Camp in the Ellembelle District”.



The overall objective is to provide guidance to UNHCR Ghana to advocate for, facilitate access to and support refugees residing in Accra, Tema and those relocated to the Krisan camp to pursue livelihood options that are void of protection risks.



Most specifically, UNHCR Ghana wishes to conduct this comprehensive protection and livelihood assessment based on the socio-economic profiling of refugees in Accra and Tema and those relocated to Krisan camp in order to gain knowledge and understanding on:



the policy environment and socio-political processes in Accra and Krisan area that enable or inhibit access to work and other livelihood opportunities;

the diversity in the refugee population living in Accra and those living in Krisan regarding their socio-economic status including the livelihood assets and strategies that households and individual men, boys, girls and women use to survive;

the existing and potential protection risk faced by refugees in Accra and those in Krisan camp including negative coping mechanisms used to pursue livelihood options (food, water, accommodation, children education, health care and energy );

the identification of institutions and programmes that support livelihood development and create economic opportunities in both areas.
